I only worked on two projects this past week: Gex & the Caffe Macchiato Socks. I finished up both sleeves on Gex. I just need to find my long circular and do the button bands. In other words, I'm at a standstill until I find my needle. Oh well. The socks......well......I finished up the ribbing on the first sock. I wound up doing 25 rounds of ribbing, which I will replicate for the second sock. I'm ready to do the pattern, which is lovely. I might even get around to it.

Other than that, I didn't knit.

Moving along......

This past week yielded a lot of adulting, more than last week. Little Man was responsible for bringing in flowers for flower arranging on Monday, and snack on Tuesday. We both had dentist appointments on Thursday. No cavities for him. I, of course, have cavities...but I've known that and they're not bothering me and I just don't want to put a crown in yet. In between everything, I was running to Costco, getting laundry done, and trying to maintain some sense of my sanity. Oh, speaking of sanity, I got a phone call on Tuesday about whether I could come in for my psych appointment on either Thursday or Friday. Cue internal panic! I went on Friday. I'm going again this week on Thursday morning (just for a check on medication), and I have another appointment scheduled for sometime in June. Soooo, little steps. On top of going to my appointment on Friday, I had to get our packing done for our weekend trip (which is why this post went up on a Monday instead of Sunday).

On Friday, after a kindergarten orientation for Little Man (and a mandatory meeting for the parents), we loaded up the car and started our long trek southward. We left around 2:45pm. We arrived at our destination around 11:30pm. One of Husband's cousins was going to be in the Los Angeles area for a wedding (far northeast suburbs) and we have family friends down in Carlsbad (which is about an hour south of LA and maybe a half hour north of San Diego). So, we drove down to Carlsbad on Friday, went to Legoland on Saturday, had lunch in San Diego, went back to Carlsbad for dinner/sleeping, and on Sunday we drove up to see Husband's cousin and her fiancĂ© for brunch, then continued on homeward. Over the course of the weekend, we were in the mountains, valleys, near the ocean, in a cesspool of urban life, and we drove through the desert. It was a quick weekend but dear lord, the driving on I-5 was terrible. Seriously, do people not know what a cruise control is for?!

Anyway, we survived the weekend and we are home. We got home around 6:30pm on Sunday, which isn't horrible.

I've not loaded my photos from this weekend's activities yet so look for them next weekend :) But, I've got a couple from this week.

Sorry, it's short and sweet and to the point. Hope you had a lovely weekend!

  2. Wow what a week! I don't know how you survive like that. I would be so run down and grouchy.
